Photo Retake Day TODAY

Missed school picture day? Want a re-do? Retake Day is TODAY, 10/30!

If you would like to have your child participate in picture retake day, save the date! 

Retake Day is open and free for:

• Anyone who had their photo taken and wants a retake (if they purchased images or not).
• Anyone who had been sent a request from Coffee Pond to have a retake image taken (due to quality control of the original image).
• Anyone who was absent on Picture Day, or has enrolled since then, and needs their first image taken.

If you have already purchased a photo package but are retaking photos, please return your original undamaged portrait package to the photographer that day.

Attention 5th Grade Families: Pumpkin Pickup

A reminder to all 5th graders and families: please remember to pick up your pumpkins outside of Loring before the end of the school day TODAY.  All remaining pumpkins will be disposed of after that time.

From leopards to vegetables, Taylor Swift to Frida Kahlo, and everything in between, one thing is certain: the 5th graders and staff members created some GOURD-geous pumpkins for the Pumpkin Walk this year! Congratulations to all of the pumpkin artists; so many community members were able to enjoy the beautiful walk through the woods this past weekend! Did YOU find all 20 gold pumpkins?

Our big raffle winners are Zaman Syed (4th), Isha Vijay (K), Bennet Hoffmaster (5th), and Ellen Malan (1st)! Congratulations; the committee will be in touch about prizes!

Extra special thanks to Pumpkin Walk Committee leader Caroline Archambault! Thank you also to committee members Nicola Premock, Stacy Barry, Caitlin Naton, Jane Barbetti, and Nicole Scola. Thank you to all the fifth graders and their families who dedicated their time to decorate pumpkins, as well as set up and clean up the trail! Finally, the 5th graders wish to thank Sudbury Valley Trustees for allowing us to use the Wolbach Farm Trail again this year!

We had a great food pantry collection last week with 35 boxes of much needed donations. Stay tuned for next month's Food Pantry Friday on November 21st; it's the biggest and most important collection of the year!

Thank you to Ms. Eddy and her 5th grade class for a great job last Friday and throughout the week drumming up support. Also a big thank you to our volunteers - Laura Warren, Marissa Cole, Heather Larson, Anne Devine, Kelly Sugrue, Stacy Barry, Caroline Archambault, Katie Carroll, and Caitlin Naton.

Flexible Seating

This year, the PTO provided a grant to our educators to support the purchase of flexible seating options for our classrooms and student spaces. The majority of the money for this effort was raised through generous donations from our Spring 2025 Fun Run!

Flexible seating has been shown to boost student motivation, engagement, focus, and autonomy. Every educator at Loring was given the opportunity to choose from 6 different seating options for their classroom.

As of last week, all flexible seating has been delivered by the PTO, totaling 110 new flexible seats throughout our Loring classrooms! The seats range from cube chairs to rocking chairs to comfy floor seats. We hope your children enjoy these new options!

Parent/Teacher Conferences start next week, which means Loring has a number of early release dates in November! In addition, there are a few days off of school for holidays. For your convenience, here's a list of the early release dates and holidays during the month of November.
