Join us (virtually) for the second General PTO meeting of the school year (and the first meeting of 2026)!

Thursday, February 26th at 7:30pm

**Please note the corrected date from last week's announcement.

Principal Harvey and Assistant Principal Savage will join for a Q&A for the first 30 minutes. We will also review the budget and provide some other updates for the school year.

Loring Goes to the Movies!

Please join us on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 pm for a special screening of the original Zootopia at the Maynard Fine Arts Theatre.  Admission is free, but you must provide an accurate headcount of guests at this link.

Date: Saturday, February 7th

Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm EST

Location: Maynard Fine Arts Theatre (19 Summer St, Maynard)

***Seats are limited and sign-ups will close on Friday, February 6th (or sooner if we reach capacity). If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, please remove your sign up to make room for other families.

Diaper Drive: 5th Grade Social Action Project

The Loring 5th Graders are kicking off their 2026 Social Action Project and they’d love your support!  This year, the fifth grade is partnering with HOPEsudbury to support the Sudbury CARE Pantry.  Over the next few weeks, the students will be collecting diapers and other baby supplies to stock the shelves at the Sudbury CARE Pantry.  

When to Donate: Wednesday, January 21st - Wednesday, February 4th

What to Donate:  Fifth graders will be collecting the following new, unopened items: 

• Diapers (especially size 3 and up)

• Baby Wipes

• Baby Shampoo & Wash

• Vaseline & Diaper Cream

• Baby Laundry Detergent/Free & Clear

• Baby Lotion

• Children’s Toothpaste & Toothbrushes

How to donate: New, unopened items can be brought to school and dropped in the collection box in the front lobby.

Donations Needed: Auction Items

Help us make the Loring Auction a slam dunk! Do you have something fun that you could donate to the auction, such as:

• Travel (e.g., a weekend at a vacation home, hotel points, airline miles)

• Experiences (e.g., cooking classes, spa day, tickets to a sporting or other event, golf outing)

• Services (e.g., house cleaning, landscaping, car detailing, photography, personal chef, fitness training)

• Unique Items (e.g., signed memorabilia, custom art, luxury goods

• Subscriptions or Memberships

• Themed Gift Baskets (stay tuned for more information and sign-up!)

We welcome donations from Loring families and local businesses and we can provide a tax receipt for the value of your donated item or service. Please email loringauction@gmail.com for more information.

5th Graders Only: Yearbook Art

Calling All 5th Grade Artists!

It's time for the Annual Yearbook Cover Art Contest! More information will be sent home with your student(s) within the next few days. All cover art is due by February 6th!

Additionally, we need help making the yearbook pawsome and we are looking for clipart submissions. This portion of the request is NOT a contest and we will use all of the clipart that we have room for in the yearbook! Please see below guidelines:

ClipArt Guidelines:                                                           

• Use 2-inch by 2-inch squares of paper

• Use color!! (any media)

• Any words should be clear and easy to read

• Put your name on the back lightly in pencil

• Clipart submissions are due February 6th!

Suggested Clipart Topics:
Core Values, Specials (Library, Gym, Music, Art), Band, Orchestra, Buddy Dog, Food Pantry, Leopard Fest, Chick Fest, Science Fair, any other school activity!

Volunteers Needed: Camp Fair, Science Fair

Now that this year's Camp Fair has passed, the role of Camp Fair Coordinator is opening up and we need a volunteer to fill the role! For those that may be unaware, the Camp Fair is held every winter and is a great resource for families as they are planning their summers. 

We are also looking for volunteers to help support the Science Fair committee for this year's upcoming Science Fair!
