Our Pawsome 5th Graders have been busy celebrating the end of their time at Loring with so many fun events!

Loring 2025 T-Shirts

Each year, the PTO sponsors special autographed Loring t-shirts for every 5th grader. The t-shirt color changes year to year but is always signed by each member of the class for a memorable keepsake. This year's 2025 shirts were on proud display at Field Day! Thank you to Erin Ciaccia for organizing the ordering and distribution!

Kickball Tournament

On June 5th, the 5th graders participated in the very first Loring kickball tournament followed by an Italian ice treat to cool down after their intense competition. Thank you to our 5th Grade teachers and staff for organizing such a fun event to "kick off" their end of year activities and congrats to Ms. Nikolich's class for securing the inaugural win!

Broomball

Friday June 6^th was a busy day for our 5^th Graders! After closing out all-school Field Day with Tug of War (congrats to Ms. Keyes’s class on the W!), they came back to school to battle it out on the Broomball court. Our students secured a hard fought win against the parent & staff team before enjoying ice cream courtesy of the PTO. Thanks to all the parents and staff who showed up to play (shoutout to Mr O'B & Ms. O'B for their stellar play time!) and especially to our volunteers who made this event possible: Sharon Brady, Heather Larson, Dave Larson, Griff Noble, Jess Cannistraro, Ben Cannistraro, Melissa Perla, Rachel Heckler, and Jake Heckler.

Moving On

Yesterday, our 5th graders participated in their Moving On Ceremony. Thank you to everyone who helped set the stage for such a special ceremony to commemorate the students’ time at Loring. Thanks to Rachel Heckler, Ivana Huang, Lito Pajarillaga, Jess Noble, Melissa Perla, and Amy Kohen for all of your behind the scenes efforts to move our 5th graders on in style!

Class Gift Committee

The 5th grade teachers, along with parent volunteers, worked closely with selected 5th grade students to choose and purchase a class gift. This year's 5th grade class chose a few different items as their gift to Loring: stair stickers for both back stairwells to support and encourage students throughout each day, affirmation posters that will be displayed in various locations around Loring, and a map stencil for the upper basketball court (to be painted by a local Girl Scout troop over the summer). Thank you to the parents who patiently guided the students over the past few months and helped purchase and assemble the items - Rachel Heckler, Ivana Huang, Crystal Pike, Sharon Brady, Melissa Perla, Heather Larson, Jess Noble, James Dinsmore, Lauren Papa, & Ekaterina Zabavnova.
