Sudbury for Digital Balance Presents “Parenting Today’s Super Connected Kids”

10/2/2024 7:40 pm

Sudbury for Digital Balance - a group of Sudbury parents, educators and health care providers - aims to provide youth the freedom to develop socially and excel academically without the pressures of smartphones and social media.

We are organizing an upcoming event that promises to make a significant impact on our community: “Parenting Today’s Super Connected Kids”, presented by esteemed speaker Dr. Jean Twenge, PhD, a Professor of Psychology at San Diego State University and author of more than 180 scientific publications and books (including iGen and Generation Me). The goal of this event is to inspire positive change, educate our community on critical issues, and promote meaningful dialogue. Her talk will explain how tweens and teens are growing up more slowly, how their mental health is suffering, how heavy technology use is linked to depression and unhappiness, and what we can do to break this cycle. Parents will walk away with ideas for how to help their family find a better balance with technology and be healthier and happier.

The event is scheduled to take place on November 12 at Curtis Middle School. Registration for the event can be completed here.
