5th Grade CE: Original Colonies
6/4/2025 6:03 pm
On Tuesday, our 5th grade students were treated to the unique teaching style of artist Neal Nichols on the Original US Colonies. Through art, repetition and participation they learned the history of how the colonies were settled by the different European countries and when they became US states.
Some questions you can ask them: which was the first US State? Which was the 24th state? What was written on the sign when the Europeans returned to Roanoke? Which Native American’s name means “the playful one”? What was FL called before it was a state? This concludes the 5th grade’s creative enrichment experience at Loring.
Thanks to our 5th Grade CE Coordinator, Rachel Heckler, for bringing this program to Loring and for all her coordination this year. Your support of the Loring PTO made this wonderful opportunity, and all of the other amazing programs our 5th Graders experienced throughout the years, possible.
