Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

 Due to the MCAS schedule, Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week will be celebrated next week! It's a week late, but it will still be PAWSOME! This year's theme is "Act Like a Kid Again" and we can't wait to treat our teachers and staff each day. We're looking for volunteers to donate items for Monday - if you're able to donate a few items, please sign up HERE.

Broomball is Next Week: Register Now

Attention 5th Grade Families - Broomball is next week!  Register now! 

When: Friday, May 17th at 5:00 pm

Where: Loring Gym 

Please have your child add their favorite (non-explicit) song to our event playlist by adding it to the registration (see below). 

If your child is interested in playing, please complete the registration form on the PTO website by Tuesday, May 14th.

Parents, please also register to play on the parent/teacher team. If you won't be playing, please consider volunteering to help run the event via this Sign Up Genius. We are in need of coaches, referees, scoreboard/timekeepers, etc.

 Every 5th grader in attendance will receive an ice cream novelty after the game. Pizza by the slice and snacks will also be available for purchase (Cash only!).

Fun Run: Early Registration Open!

Loring's Annual Fun Run is  Saturday, June 1st from 4:00-6:00 pm.  

The Fun Run is one of the most anticipated events of the year! The kids have a blast running for their school and trying to beat the participation goal to earn the school wide reward. 

In addition to being the PTO's largest fundraiser, during the two week fundraising campaign, the kids learn all about specific character traits that help them succeed. This year's theme is World Changer Workshop and the kids will be inspired to develop big ideas to help leave their mark on the World! While our fundraising campaign will officially kick off on May 21, registration is now open for anyone who would like to register early!! Registering is easy and free and best of all, if we get 70% of the school to simply register, the kids will earn an exciting school-wide special event!

Also exciting and new for this year is that Dude Perfect has partnered with Boosterthon for this event! This means that all the prizes that kids can earn through registration (totally free) and obtaining pledges are Dude Perfect endorsed! So if your child enjoys attempting cool tricks, they will love these prizes! 

After the kids have run their laps, they can enjoy a party on the playground! Travelin Bones Food truck will be on site for you to purchase food from and have a picnic with friends. The 5th graders will also have their dunk tank that was postponed due to rain in Fall. So you wont want to miss this event!!

The funds raised will go toward creative enrichment for all grades. Registration will kick on in two weeks so stay tuned!

Food Pantry: Next Week

Our May Food Pantry Friday is next week (5/17), and we only have two more chances left this school year to stock the shelves for the summer! So let's get ready!! A list of most needed items will be posted to the PTO Facebook page by the end of the week for your weekend shopping trips.
The 5th Graders leading the charge this month have decided on Patriotism as the theme, so wear your red, white and blue!

Loring Eats: Thank You

A big thank you to the Loring community for supporting our Spring Loring Eats event at Sudbury Pizza!  Together we supported a generous local business and raised funds for the PTO.

All School Creative Enrichment

Yesterday Rob Surette visited Loring students with his program, Amazing Hero Art.  Students were treated to an inspirational speed painting performance with messages of resilience, equality, self-esteem, kindness, and chasing your dreams.

Rob's portraits of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Albert Einstein hang in our lobby and will now be joined by a portrait of Malala Yousafzai. 

Thank you to our pawsome PTO community - programs like these are possible because of you and your generous support of our fundraising efforts!

2024-2025 Open Positions

We are recruiting now for our 2024-2025 open Exec Board and coordinator positions and would love for you to join our team!  Volunteering for the board is a rewarding experience as you have a direct impact on Loring and our students.  Beyond the fundraising, staff, education, and community support and connection, you have unique access and insight into both the Loring and SPS administration.  

Please reach out with any questions about time commitment or scheduling, we’d love to hear from you!
Vice Chair -  The Vice Chair works alongside and learns from the Chair to provide the overall leadership for all PTO activities. Serves on the Executive Board, works closely with the Principal and Vice Principal and district administration, and provides guidance and oversight to all committee coordinators. Two-year term. In the past this role has been filled by people with all work experiences and availability. The role is what you are able to make of it! 
Assistant Treasurer -  The Assistant Treasurer works alongside and learns from the Treasurer as the PTO’s chief financial officers. Primary responsibility is handling deposits. Two-year term. 

Camp Fair Coordinators - We are currently looking for two people to fill the roles of Camp Fair Coordinators for the 2024-2025 School Year.  The Camp Fair coordinator is a position active from October through the end of January. The coordinators communicate with camps to arrange enrollment, build the online directory, run meetings with other Camp Fair team volunteers, and assist at the in-person event.  The majority of this role is done at home and on your own time.  Training and previous documentation will be provided - the new coordinators will be able to step right in!
