Welcome to the Loring PTO!

When your family joins the Loring School community, you become a part of the Loring PTO; a community of parents, teachers and school administrators joining together to enrich the educational and social experience of our students.

Parent involvement is critical to our success and there are a number of ways to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about the different opportunities available please email our co-chairs Anne Devine and Melissa Perla.

How Does the PTO Support Loring?

3/27/2024 9:30 am

What exactly does the PTO do?

At the auction last Friday we showed a video that highlighted many of the various ways that the PTO supports Loring and its community. Believe it or not, this isn't an exhaustive list - there is so much more to what we do! Take a look when you get a chance as your donations and volunteer hours are what make all of this possible!

Second Grade Creative Enrichment: Physical Changes of Matter

3/27/2024 9:27 am

The Discovery Museum brought their traveling workshop “Physical Changes of Matter” to Loring last week. The second graders learned about solids, liquids and gases and how they change from one state to another. They also learned about sublimation and were able to see it in action - the dry ice was a big hit! Ask your 2nd graders if they can use their hands to describe the different states of matter and what they thought of the liquid nitrogen demonstrations involving flowers and a banana.

Thank you to our wonderful Loring community for supporting the PTO and making these programs possible.  Also, thank you to our second grade creative enrichment coordinator, Crystal Pike, who worked with teachers to bring this program to Loring!
