Check out Ziptivity.com a new, free family activities website launched earlier this year in metrowest Boston. Ziptivity.com pulls together a variety of family-friendly events, children’s classes and places to go in your area. It provides a search tool that allows parents and caregivers to submit their location, children’s interests and ages, their schedule and budget to find the perfect fit. It offers a twice-weekly newsletter, ZipNews, which highlights picks for the week and the weekend, giving subscribers “first-to-know” inside scoop without having to search.

Sudbury Maynard Stow Youth Hockey Association (SMS Youth Hockey)

Sudbury Maynard Stow Youth Hockey Association (SMS Youth Hockey) is a non-profit organization operating youth hockey and learn to skate programs for the benefit of the residents of Sudbury, Maynard, Stow and several surrounding communities. Our Mite In-House (“MIH”) program has been an extremely popular introduction for kids to hockey and a great feeder for our travel teams, especially at the Mite and Squirt level. In keeping with the theme of grooming future SMS Devils and to help eliminate potential confusion for parents (when registering a child in Mite In-House vs. Mite Travel), we have decided to rename Mite In-House to Little Devils ‘Learn-to-Play’.

The Little Devils ‘Learn to Play’ is for boys and girls born between 1/1/2002 and 12/31/2005 with the season will run from November to March. We typically skate twice a week with the focus on fun and exposing the kids to the great sport of hockey. Registration begins on Wednesday September 8th at 9:00 am. One can register online at www.recreation.sudbury.ma.us or in person at 40 Fairbank Rd., Sudbury MA. Some of the programs being offered are Fantastically Fun Fridays –which is a theme-based enrichment program. Some of the themes for this fall are (Fun & Games, Jr. Meteorologist, Halloween Rage, Dr.Seuss and more). Other programs are Swim, Gym, & Craft on Tuesdays for ages 4-6, and on early release Wednesday’s for grades K-5th. We also have our Terrific Two programs, Kreative Kids, and Afternoon Relief. Some of our new programs are Messy Art; Jump, Roll & Sing and Art for the young & young at heart. Many thanks to the dedicated folks who have worked hard for the PTO over the summer. Leslie and Chris Hamilton organized all 600+ red folders that every child uses daily throughout the year. Elisha Rotar organized the Welcome Back Luncheon for the teachers and staff. This luncheon is a great way to show the teachers and staff how much we as parents appreciate all they do (and will do this year) for our children. And thanks to Rick Morris for all his hard work on the website and emails.
