Art teacher Abby Pepin is in need of many household objects for upcoming sculpture projects. If you have any of the following items, please bring them in to the art room: sports cards, miscellaneous playing cards, soda bottle caps, buttons, seashells, marbles, mini action figures, doll house furniture, small mirrors, fake rhinestones, ribbon, match box cars, match boxes, old game or puzzle pieces, postage stamps, maps, spools (from thread), fake flowers, thimbles, post cards, wood bits and pieces, old or broken electronics, washers & other nuts and bolts, stickers, corks, any other odds and ends that you think would be interesting, and shoe boxes without shiny surfaces (the paint chips off from the shiny surfaced boxes).

Congratulations to all the 5th graders who participated in Schoolhouse Rock this past weekend. The show was a great success! Thank you to all the parents who supported the show along the way and helped out. We couldn’t have done it without you! We also could not have done it without the hard work and time of Ms. Dippel, Mr. Ieong, and Mr. Williams. A Pawsome job and thanks to everyone involved!

DATE CHANGE FOR PTO MEETING

The PTO meeting this month will be held at 7pm on March 17th. We will hold a quick meeting and then Dr. Brackett will present a discussion for the Loring and Nixon communities on the school budget. Please plan on attending this meeting because it is important to be informed before the Town Meeting and Vote later this month.

FOOD PANTRY FRIDAY!

Wear green for St. Patty’s Day this Friday, March 12th when you bring your food pantry donations! Last month, the elementary schools collected 3,099 items to support the increased demand in February. Thanks to you, many families will not go hungry! Thank you for your continued support. Please see the email blast for a list of requested items. Sudbury Destination Imagination Teams Perform

On March 20, thirteen Sudbury Destination Imagination teams will be performing their Challenges at Ayer High School.

The tournament is a lot of fun and runs from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Come support our town and your friends, or just come for fun and learning.

FOLK CONCERT WITH “NOTORIOUS”
Wednesday, April 7 – Curtis Auditorium – 7:00pm

Dear Parents,
On April 7, 2010, a grant from the Sudbury Cultural Council will bring Eden MacAdam-Somer and Larry Unger of the folk duo, “Notorious,” to the Ephraim Curtis Middle School Auditorium! A nationally-touring ensemble, Larry and Eden will put on a special 90-minute fiddling workshop with middle school orchestra members, from 12:30-2:00pm. The middle school orchestra students will then perform a fiddle tune with Notorious in a concert that evening.

To reserve a seat at the evening concert, please fill out and detach this form. Please note you will not receive tickets for this event, but you will receive an email confirmation. Your name(s) will be placed on a list at the check in desk. Student admission is free when accompanied by a paying adult. (This same pricing applies to middle school orchestra students.) Admission may be purchased with cash or check, made payable to Curtis Friends of Music.
