Car Pick-up Guidelines

Do you drive your child to school? Here are some helpful guidelines to ensure your child’s safety.

MORNING

  • Cars should only drop off children when they are pulled up to the curb along the side of the school.
  • Children should get out of the car on the passenger side only.
  • Parents should not get out of their car to open doors for their child.  Staff will assist by opening doors and if necessary helping with backpacks.
  • Please stay in line.
  • After 8:15 AM, your child is still pawsome, but officially tardy. Please park your car in a visitor spot and accompany them to the front office.

AFTERNOON

  • Cars should only pick up children when they are pulled up to the curb along the side of the school.  Please tell your child to wait on the grassy area until you pull up.
  • Children should get into the car on the passenger side only.
  • Parents are asked not to get out of their car to open doors or buckle in their child.  If needed, staff will open the car door for the child and assist with backpacks and other belongings.  We encourage parents to teach their children to buckle up (or pull up and into a parking space if the child is unable to buckle up).
  • Place yellow car placards on the passenger side of the car window.  If needed, staff will call your child’s name when your car pulls up.
  • Children will be grouped by last names in the waiting area.  They are asked to sit on a bench or stand quietly behind a bench as they wait for their car.
  • Please stay in line.
  • Cars start lining up as early as 2:20 PM to be among the first in line.  Please turn off your engine while waiting.  You can save time by arriving a little after 2:45 PM (official dismissal), but keep your child aware that you will be among the last cars.

YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT.  PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES WITH THEM TO ENSURE THAT PICKUP REMAINS SAFE.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.
